wow. i went a whole week. this is dangerous territory for a blog. these things tend to atrophy. (see links for carlos and bart. HINT.)
final critiques for the semester were friday. mine went fine, but had a sour taste in my mouth for the whole weekend — a dude got reeeeeal mad at me for putting nails into a wall. water under the kiss-muh-ass bridge. just a paper to write then i get a brief vacation. looking forward to it.
this summer i’ll be starting my assistantship, shadowing a professor for the first term, while working on weird videos and plexiglass installations. then, in the blazing heat of july, i’ll be on my way to austin for some rock’n'roll. rock’n'roll, in this case, includes TEXAS bbq (it’s just different up here…), hanging out with friends, sweatin’ through my undies, drinking lonestar (lots of lonestar.), and recording some music.
days like this’n make me miss the hell out of you.
and more importantly:
(this video came to my attention through a really sad event, and i won’t say anything on that topic–it’s not mine to discuss…but the video is here, and it’s amazing)
i was going to post a picture here…but the dude just makes me feel sick.
so…when i was a wee lad of 12ish, several things were cool without question: swords, lightning, and boobs. somehow, this made the tv series “the highlander” cool. i spent a good two years watching this show obsessively. enough, in fact, to purchase memorabilia. well, netflix streaming now has this show. i haven’t seen the movie in ages, but i hadn’t seen this show in a reeeeeally long time. this show is AWFUL. it’s one of those things that you really shouldn’t watch again as an adult. it’s nauseating. i watched the first episode hoping for some nostalgia but …that didn’t happen.
so so so bad.
